Oasis Fresh Foundation

aka The Oasis Projects   |   Tulsa, OK   |  theoasisprojects.org

Mission

We exist to build bridges, remove barriers, and bring resources to meet crisis needs, but also create sustained, life transformation. The Oasis Project’s core programs and services revolve around correcting systemic divides in North Tulsa by providing equitable access to fresh and healthy food options and community resources. As a non-profit organization, located within a brick-and-mortar grocery store, The Oasis Project is uniquely positioned to provide complementary programming in a community that was considered a food desert for nearly 14 years to tackle health and economic disparities.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

First Saturdays

Every ‘First Saturday’ of each month, The Oasis Projects invites 13-15 vendors to set up booths inside the store’s cafe to offer our clients and community residents a variety of different services and programs. First Saturdays have had great impacts including residents being able to move from being a renter to a buyer of their home, children enrolling in educational programs (Tulsa Educare, and TPS), diabetic blood screening, high blood pressure detected and connected to local health care services, numerous consultations with area dieticians, high-school-aged children signing up for STEM-based after school programming, vaccine clinics, among other outcomes.
