Refugee Youth Programs

They operate with the mission of empowering refugee youth with healing, connection, and belonging through transformative place-based experiences in their new home. These experiences are free for youth ages 4-18 living in transitional housing, and include: Bird watching events Day camps Art and stewardship events
EverWild Forest School
The mission of EverWild Forest School is to connect children to themselves, their communities, and to the natural world through free play, place-based curriculum, and nature immersion. We believe that children grow, learn, and thrive best when immersed in nature. Our outdoor programs support the needs of children by using a whole-child, emergent learning approach. Our goal is to nurture their hearts and minds while strengthening their sense of place, community engagement, and environmental stewardship. EverWild Forest School strives to achieve this mission with programs serving children ages 18 months-12 years in the greater Treasure Valley area. These programs include: Tots & Trees Early Learning Homeschool Enrichment Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer Camps Forest Fridays No-School Nature Days
Educator Training
National Outdoor Learning Alliance offers a variety of classes that cater to the interests of any educator or program lead. Our classes emphasize hands-on activities rather than lectures, allowing educators to make informed decisions on how to create or enhance an outdoor learning program.
Tailored Curriculum
National Outdoor Learning Alliance curricula are aligned with industry standards and customized to support each classroom's unique learning goals. We understand that curricula should not be a one-size-fits-all approach, so we carefully plan every class and activity to achieve your learning objectives.
Customizable Training
National Outdoor Learning Alliance's traveling trainer offers personalized training, assessments, and custom curricula to help educators create the best outdoor learning environment for their students. NOLA provides a variety of classes that cater to the preferences of every educator or program lead. With more hands-on activities and less lecture time, educators can make better decisions regarding their outdoor learning program.
After School
The National Outdoor Learning Alliance developed this program specifically for children in Kindergarten to Grade 6 who come from low-income families, ensuring that outdoor learning opportunities are accessible to all. Hosted at EverWild Forest School, this free afterschool program aims to counteract the negative health effects of poverty on youth through increased access to safe green spaces. EverWild Forest School, known for its immersive and impactful learning experiences, employs a holistic, whole-child approach to afterschool care, allowing children to engage with nature, expand their knowledge, and develop crucial life skills. The carefully crafted curriculum will encourage participants to explore the wonders of the outdoors, engage in hands-on activities, and foster a deep appreciation for the environment.
Field Trips
NOLA is dedicated to enhancing outdoor educational opportunities both nationally and within our home state of Idaho. We provide place-based educational field trips across the Treasure Valley that align with the Idaho Content Standards for grades K-5.
