What we aim to solve
Since 1947, the Hebrew Free Loan Association has been a leader in lending a hand to people in need and assisting in building the future of many in our community. The incredible vision of our founders many years ago is just as prevalent in today's time. Over the years, as our interaction with the community deepened, it was realized that much more must be done, to fulfill our long-term vision to improve the quality of life within our community.
The incredible vision of our founders many years ago is just as prevalent in today's time. The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Tucson is an organization who's roots reach deep into the past. The ideals we follow are from the Torah, in the book of Exodus…"IF YOU LEND MONEY TO MY PEOPLE, EVEN TO THE POOR AMONG YOU, DO NOT ACT TOWARDS THEM AS A CREDITOR: YOU SHALL NOT CHARGE THEM INTEREST."

Interest-Free Loans
We believe helping people become self-sufficient is the highest form of charity. Through donations, we are transforming lives by loaning, being repaid, then by recycling loan dollars again and again, allowing us the ability to help an unlimited number of people in a time of need.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Within the many social service programs available, we are the only organization that will lend money interest free to support self-sufficiency, respect and dignity. We empower people to build their own futures. We are proud to serve as a financial resource for those in need in our community.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We believe helping people become self-sufficient is the highest form of charity. Through donations, we are transforming lives by interest free loaning, being repaid, then by recycling loan dollars again and again, allowing us the ability to help an unlimited number of people in a time of need. We work with local business leaders and many social service organizations to assist hard working people with unexpected and hardship expenses.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We work with various Foundations and individual donors to raise funds and to invest their funds back into the local community.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have helped hundreds of people achieve stable financial independence. We have assisted families with sending children to camps, medical expenses, rent and mortgage assistance, auto repairs, and many more life challenges.
We hope to start working with local area highs schools by starting to teach financial literacy at an early age and giving children the tools they will need to manage finances for the future.
