The primary purpose of the Chapter is to provide education and training, participate in research, and perform community outreach regarding cloud security best practices on behalf of the Cloud Security Alliance. The objectives of the organization are:
- To promote the education and training of, and help expand the knowledge and skills of its members in cloud security compliance and assurance best practices;
- To encourage an open exchange of cloud security governance, audit, control, and assurance techniques, approaches, and problem solving by its members;
- To promote adequate communication to keep members abreast of current events in cloud security governance, audit, control and assurance that can be of benefit to them and their employers;
- To communicate and share the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure proper cloud security governance and the effective organization and utilization of cloud security tools and resources; and
- To promote CSA Globals professional training and certifications.

1) Provide free membership through various social media sites including but not limited to LinkedIn & Meetup
2) Raise funds through various sponsorships described here: https://www.csa-triangle.org/sponsorship
3) Partner with Higher Ed institutions like NC State University (NCSU), UNC Wilmington (UNCW), Wake Tech Community College to increase the membership
4) Partner with other local security organizations or chapters including ISSA Raleigh Chapter, BSides RDU Chapter and Cyber Risk Alliance to increase the membership

Our board comprises a unique blend of strong technical leaders and sales leaders from the IT industry, all of whom possess extensive connectionsboth personal and professionalwith industry and academia

In 2023, our chapter accomplished an impressive array of events, including 10 in-person Meetups, a Full-day Immersion Day, and a total of 8 presentations split between two conferences: 5 presentations at Triangle InfoSec and 3 presentations at UNCW CCDE
