What we aim to solve
Legacy Collective works to solve systemic issues by funding the most sustainable, innovative efforts through partnerships with nonprofit organizations locally and globally. We do this through funding grants in our Legacy Giving Circle, our Mama Bears Giving Circle (LGBTQ+ benefitting nonprofits only), other Cause Area Giving Circles launching in 2023, our City Giving Circles, our Corporate Giving Circles, and Disaster Relief efforts. In 2023, we will begin correlating all grants funded to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Corporate Giving Circles
Corporate Giving Circles give employees an opportunity to come together to collectively give, nominate nonprofits they are passionate about, vote, and grant funding to nonprofits addressing systemic issues with innovative and sustainable solutions. This builds community amongst the employees while making an impact in their community and across the globe.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We plan to raise a minimum of $1.35MM in 2023 and issue the grants for each giving circle and disaster relief effort in the greatest amount possible. This year, we will begin reaching out for Foundation funding of programming costs to allow our organization to issue more grants to more nonprofits funding the most sustainable, innovative efforts through partnerships with nonprofit organizations locally and globally. Our goal is to have 80% of all funding issued in grants.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
To grow the organization, we have a 10% goal of net new donors YOY with 50% of these coming from our Board of Directors and Advisory Board. We also have multiple donor events planned to grow our community and maintain our current donor community. We will also be implementing donor software to help up manage 15,000 leads and contacts that are not currently monthly donors but are engaged with our organization in some capacity. With this effort we also strive for a donor retention rate of above 85% annually.
We will be launching (2) new Cause Area specific giving circles in 2023.
We will be targeting the launch of City Giving Circles in 8 new cities in 2023.
We will be targeting $20,000 in Corporate Sponsorship in our Cause Area Giving Circles.
We will be applying to Foundations to cover the cost of growing our Grant Management Program and Giving Circle Program so that those programming costs can be put toward grants instead.
All of the funding coming from the above efforts will then be issued to nonprofits via our Grant Cycles (donors nominate nonprofits, we vet the organizations, and the donors vote on who receives the funding). The more funding that is received, means the more that is granted and the greater impact is made. Each application will be required to list which (1) or (2) of the Sustainable Development Goals they are meeting so we can measure the impact.
Not only are more funding and more granting important to us, but more important to use are our people! So we have also put goals and measures in place to ensure a positive staff culture and staff development as well as Board development and effectiveness.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
With the efforts of a strong staff, an engaged donor community, a supportive and active Advisory Board, and an engaged Board of Directors we are capable of meeting these goals. The current economic climate may be a challenge for us, but our team is strong and capable of pivoting.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have a marketing plan with 13 action items in place for 2023 to help grow the community and clearly defined goals and a strategic plan which has been communicated to the staff, both Boards, and the key stakeholders.
We have launched a rebrand in January of 2023. And we will be launching our UN Sustainable Development Goal Campaign to educate our community in February of 2023 which will run for 18 months.
