Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Avante Garde (AG) is a Colorado non-profit organization, established in 2021. Our operations, located in the Denver Metro area, has a mission to provide access to continued education for artists in the local area by providing educational workshops, art events, and opportunities to showcase artists.

Avante Garde is intends to form partnerships with Colorado businesses and the Colorado educators in order to create programs for the members of AG and the local community. AG serves new artists, established artists, and projects that intend to nurture and cultivate gender equality, global sustainability, and good health & wellbeing with events & educational workshops provided by Avante Garde and its community.

The offerings provided by this organization were created in direct response to the need to deepen the connection in the art community and uplift the art & culture within the Colorado community.

Our strategies begin with bridging the gaps in the artist & the artistry. We believe that by providing access and education with business administration, health & wellbeing, gender equality to the creators in the art & culture industry. We can then help our people take advantage of the services and tools that will assist them in furthering their education and skillset, staying informed about community issues, and finding additional resources. it will also create additional opportunities within our community by allowing artists to create a community standard, style, and quality lifestyle for our artists who are representing the local community. We hope to elevate the community & resident artists.

Our organization was founded by a leader who has a history of involvement in the n leaders in the nonprofit sector, the art industry, and the public education sector. With the board of directors leading Avante Garde having a similar background and experience, this combination gives us the foundation to create these initiatives and drive our community toward growth and continued progress.

We have engaged with over 800 members of our community on Instagram, have 18 site members registered on our website, and we have executed three events this year. With the two showcase events and one educational workshop, we have engaged with 20 artists in the community and exhibited 30 artists with over 42 art pieces. Avante Garde hosted an online educational workshop event with an industry Art researcher.

We have engaged with five artists outside Colorado, and 3 of them are located internationally in interviews to discuss their processes and perspectives to deliver to our community base.

Data
  • We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
  • We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
