Mission

The Inspired Community Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization that was founded because high quality special education instruction, resources, and career opportunities should be equally accessible across all people, communities, and boroughs. Our mission is to create self-sustaining, hyper-local special education communities through robust research of best practices in direct instruction, family advocacy support and workforce development. Applied research with a direct instruction foundation, high-quality training methods, hands-on support, and a people-first focus, our research will provide data-backed best practices to provide a sustainable foundation for future generations within the special education community.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Applied Research

We understand that early childhood education is critical to the development of children and their success in school and beyond. That's why we're committed to conducting rigorous research to help identify the best practices for supporting the growth and development of children. Research is how we ensure that we are promoting best practices with data-based decision making.

Population(s) Served

Our center-based Early Intervention center (Opening in the Bronx January 2024) provides an interdisciplinary approach utilizing current research, and conducts research on the best practice in Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech, Occupational, and Play Therapy. Early intervention is FAMILY centered so we provide advocacy coaching, Special Education road maps for navigating the NYC education system and accessible resources.

Our staff can join us with little experience but through our intensive training curriculum, our classroom staff can leave us as Registered Behavior Technicians® (RBT®). A marketable certification that they can leverage for higher-paying direct service positions; and through our strategic partnerships, we then provide placement with our Programatic Partners.

Population(s) Served

This program will not only arm families with the tools needed to navigate an incredibly complicated system within the Early Intervention and the Department of Education, but they will have the confidence and the support to advocate for their child's specific needs within the systems. We've built a community of support around our families so they feel less alone, less overwhelmed and more prepared for what is coming ahead.
