Mission

Andean Tapir Fund is dedicated to saving and restoring members of the Horse, Tapir and Rhino families in the mammalian order Perissodactdyla in their natural habitats. It educates people on the value & significance of these wonderful ancient presences & how they contribute positively to ecosystems they inhabit. It conducts field studies of these animals, prepares reports, delivers talks and PowerPoints presentations, engages in legal suits, appears on TV & radio programs, does magazine & newpaper articles -- English & Spanish -- & enforces laws. It gives regular input at professional level to government programs that should be protecting & restoring these animals together with their habitats. Activists

Our team is working to save this remnant population of endangered Mountain Tapirs in the Piuran and adjoining Andes with local communities and has been successful at staving off giant mining and other development and agrarian projects that would wipe out the last of these precious animals. They play a great role as Keystone species in the norther Andes. See latest Go Fund Me at https://www.gofundme.com/f/saving-andean-tapirs-habitat-in-northern-peru... or https://gofundme/897e6166
