NO MORE BAD DAYS
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
OGR undertakes to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a permanent home for horses, specifically, and such others as may be at risk or in urgent need, up to a limit determined by grazing acreage and available resources. OGR will offer permanent sanctuary and care to otherwise unwanted, abused or neglected horses, and provide them with a safe haven where they will never again experience the situations that led them to OGR in the first place. A secondary purpose of OGR is to identify situations where horses and other large animals have adequate shelter and grazing, but the owners cannot afford proper nutrition, farrier and veterinary care. In these circumstances, OGR (when resources allow) will provide needed services with the intent of leaving the horses in place. In return, OGR will seek permission to periodically evaluate the horses and their living conditions. Our motto is “No More Bad Days.”

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
OGR will use the resources of donors, sponsors, and volunteers to rescue, rehabilitate and provide for a permanent home while maintaining a high level of care for horses at the facility and approved OGR partners.
Create a long-term sustainable business model that will ensure the necessary financial and human resources to provide for OGR to accomplish its mission year in and year out.
Obtained accreditation through the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). This will allow OGR to maximize performance and achieve the highest standards created for animal sanctuaries. Being GFAS accredited will allow us to communicate that OGR is officially recognized as committed, capable and worthy of support. This will positively impact how OGR is perceived by donors, law enforcement, lawmakers and the general public.
By publicizing the needs of at-risk and urgent horses and educating the public on what it takes to care for special needs horses as well as success stories, OGR will attract donors and sponsors for rescued animals.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Keys to Success......
Securing funding sufficient to cover all expenses.
Obtaining GFAS accreditation.
Secure corporate sponsorship to encourage donations of goods and services.
Effectively communicate with the public regarding the history of each horse as well as the resource needed in hopes that donations will follow.
Maintain all facilities in excellent condition and make sure stalls are kept clean and dry.
Ensure that each animal receives excellent nutrition that is aligned with their individual medical needs.
Ensure that all medications are administered according to veterinarian direction.
