Storm Breakers

The statistics are overwhelming. Many studies show that 1 in 3 Americans are suffering from depression. With a population of 900,000, Kern statistically has 300,000 individuals affected by this mental health malady. And these are just the documented cases. Storm Breakers is aiming to significantly reduce that number.

There are three strategies implemented by Storm Breakers:

1. Biblical Counseling
This style of counseling comes alongside the individual's belief system and steers them towards coming into agreement with God's Word. By imparting hope, focusing on thought patterns and directing behavioral outcomes, Biblical counseling is an effective strategy in the fight against depression.

2. Public Events and Seminars
Storm Breakers regularly attends vendor fairs and other similar style events in order to spread hope and to get in front of others who may struggle with depression or aren't even aware of it's effects. Seminars have also become an effective tool to teach people about the Biblical tactics and strategies that God has outlined in the Bible.

3. Literature
The founder of Storm Breakers, D.M. Samms, wrote a book called Storm Breakers: Silence the Storm of Depression. After struggling under depression for his entire life, he wrote this book as a personal testimony and teaching about how to overcome depression using the Scriptures. This book is made available at all events, seminars, public outreaches and online.
