Wounded Healer Project "Patrol Base"

The Wounded Healer Project provides mentorship for veterans who are interested in becoming mental health providers. We work to create, connect and provide support for our network of prospective and current veteran mental health providers through engagement in virtual community activities, seminars, conferences, and more. We are working with local wellness partners to coordinate retreats designed intentionally for veteran mental health providers in order to continue their personal growth and healing. Lastly, our team advocates for higher compensation and a balanced caseload to help mitigate burnout for veteran mental health providers.

The Wounded Healer Project provides critical therapeutic services and support for Veterans enrolled in Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) in Denver, Colorado. Many Veterans enter the VTC in crisis mode however, some are forced to endure prolonged waiting periods (as much as 30+ days) before they can secure court-mandated placement in local mental health treatment programs. With help from our generous Donors, the Wounded Healer Project is shortening this window considerably by offering a weekly therapy group for VTC-enrolled Veterans. The VTC-CSG provides Veterans with access to a community of peers and qualified therapeutic services to support their journey of healing and rehabilitation.
