Jordan's Syndrome Research

Jordan's Guardian Angels is funding and facilitating groundbreaking research into Jordan's Syndrome with a multi-disciplinary research team consisting of clinicians, geneticists, neurologists, biochemists, protein modelers, model organism researchers, and cancer biologists. This strong collaboration is aimed to study the mechanism of the gene variations (PPP2R5D, PPP2R1A, & PPP2R5C) to gain a deeper understanding of the syndrome and develop possible treatments. In the last couple of years, motivated by our families, the team has developed the toolbox needed to move the research forward. This includes the creation of patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells, various mice models, nanobodies derived from Alpacas, as well as the development of 3D models of the genes.
