CI Employment Services

Staff in CI Employment Services work with people with disabilities and other challenges to provide vocational training and community job placement.

CI Community Center is a safe, creative, and supervised place for people with disabilities to find social connection, life enrichment, and community integration.

Opportunity Kitchen is a 12-week food service training program which offers hands-on culinary instruction and soft skills development courses to those with disabilities as well as people facing other documented barriers. This program provides hands-on food service training for people who need extra support to overcome employment barriers. For some, they may be overcoming substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness, incarceration, or they may be living with an intellectual or physical disability.

Students spend 12 weeks alongside an Executive Chef instructor as they cover a comprehensive curriculum to prepare them for food service or hospitality employment. They learn skills such as safe food handling, cooking techniques, weighing and measuring ingredients, following recipes, catering and customer service, while also receiving program certification and a Food Handler Permit.
