A Way Forward
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Drug dependency is on the rise in Snohomish County which manifests itself in many areas of society. Families are torn apart, lives are destroyed and everyone is impacted as a result. We primarily focus on breaking the cycle of abuse by helping drug addicted persons recover and keeping their families together. We believe every effort should be made to keep children with their mothers. We accomplish this by providing wrap-around services aimed at helping willing participants recover from addiction as well as finding stable housing to provide a safe and positive environment in which to heal.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
PCAP
Under the PCAP Program in Snohomish County, we provide case management services to over 125 families monthly. Our model allows the opportunity to build strong relationships due to a three-year service program. We are always seeking support for these moms and children in a concrete way. If you are able to provide diapers, wipes, and/or monetary/gift card donations, please contact us. Learn More
ESTEEM Shelter
The Emergency Shelter to Empower and Educate Mothers (ESTEEM) is not your typical emergency shelter. This shelter’s innovative, evidence-based program is founded on research conducted at the University of Washington by Therese Grant, Ph.D. Her research focuses on barriers to care for chemically-dependent pregnant and parenting mothers throughout every phase of treatment.
The ESTEEM Shelter model used this research to establish best practices and incorporate the emergency housing component. The model also draws on the expertise of national evidence-based practices from SAMHSA.
Amerigroup
The Amerigroup Supportive Housing Program helps men and women in Snohomish County find and secure permanent housing. Case Managers partner with clients for six months to work through the challenges they have had in securing housing.
FIRST Legal Clinic Community Partner
FIRST Legal Clinic provides free legal representation and peer advocacy services for parents of newborns and pregnant parents experiencing substance use challenges and/or at risk of child welfare involvement. This is an opportunity for parents to receive wrap-around support while pregnant, through delivery, and beyond.
Snohomish County Syringe Services Program
Syringe Services Programs (SSPs) are proven and effective community-based programs that provide a range of services, including harm reduction education along with access to and safe disposal of syringes and injection equipment. We are a 1-1 exchange, with staff discretion, and there is no limit on how many or how often a person can exchange with us.
We provide education and prevention information regarding drug related health conditions such as HIV/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis to individuals and organizations within Snohomish County.
We provide referrals to other community services such as substance abuse treatment, food/shelter, and medical care.
We provide Overdose Prevention Training and kits that contain Naloxone/Narcan to our program participants.
