Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to sustain and grow programs and services for our community that will improve community healthcare across four initiatives: Cancer Care, Children's Health, Compass Care, and Healthy Yakima.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Through community engagement, partnerships and building relationships. The Memorial Foundation has a multi-faceted strategic focus on the acquisition of major gifts, corporate giving, annual giving, grants discovery and acquisition, employee giving, community partnerships, signature fundraising events, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals®, and communicating with our community through regular newsletters, our website, and social media platforms.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Memorial Foundation Board of Trustees serve as community connectors to build community partnerships and advocacy by donating their time and resources. The Memorial Foundation's team works towards meeting the goals in all facets of our strategies.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Goals have been met to successfully complete a $4.5 million campaign to add a wing to Virginia Mason Memorial's hospice care facility, annually raised funds to fulfill our commitment to program allocations, and committed funding to start a Women's and Children's care line at Virginia Mason Memorial. Next, we will be working to raise funds in support of 2018 program allocations, build an endowment for Children's Village, and grow our major giving program.
