The Youth Marine Foundation is the premier on-water nonprofit that provides hands-on maritime training and marine science programs for youth year round by operating the Tacoma Youth Marine Center, South Sound’s premier waterfront youth campus located on the east side of the Foss Waterway. A place where youth can touch the Sound.

Youth Marine Career Training

Youth Marine Career Training is offered to boys and girls ages 14-20 through partnerships with non-profit youth organizations such as Sea Scouts and with the Tacoma School District.  Applied math and science as well as specific seafaring skills are taught in the classroom and onboard vessels on Puget Sound.
