What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Birth to Three Services
Our Birth to Three providers teach families to meet the developmental needs of their child with hearing loss. Our early intervention providers act as coaches, helping families understand the process of listening and talking in a natural, playful way. Through modeling and practice they learn to help their child respond to and interpret sounds, building a foundation upon which spoken language learning will continue throughout their entire life.
Blended Classrooms
Blended preschool and pre-K classrooms provide children with hearing loss the skills necessary to fully participate in general education settings. Our classrooms also offer children with hearing the opportunity to learn about diversity while they are taught by highly qualified teachers and assistants in a language-rich environment.
Listening and Spoken Language Therapy
Listening and Spoken Language Therapy provides coaching and guidance for families as their child develops listening and spoken language throughout all aspects of daily life. These family centered sessions follow an Auditory-Verbal Therapy model emphasizing listening and spoken communication.
Audiology Services
Audiology Services ensure that our on-site students hear as well as possible so they can continue their listening and language development. The Harry Levinson Memorial Audiology Center provides immediate expert assistance and support to our classroom students to ensure they are hearing as well as they can every school day.
Statewide Outreach, Mentorship, and Consultations
Statewide Outreach, Mentorship, and Consultations provide expertise in LSL for families and schools through mentorship and consultative services, including but not limited to Individualized Education Program (IEP) reviews, IEP development, classroom observations, functional listening evaluations, speech and language assessments, professional development, and ongoing monitoring and support of children placed in neighborhood schools.
Training and Professional Development
Training and Professional Development opportunities help meet the needs of children with hearing loss by sharing our knowledge and expertise with the greater speech and hearing community.
