Mission

The Sitka Trail Works Board of Directors, staff and membership is dedicated to working efficiently and supportively with our partners to create, maintain and promote a beautiful, diversified and accessible trail system; as our gift to future generations. These trails will provide a wide range of opportunities for physical activity, economic development, cultural enrichment and spiritual renewal.

Sitka Cross Trail

Programs: STW continued planning for additons to the Sitka Cross Trail project for the City and Borough of Sitka. Construction on the Phase 6 extension began in November 2019 & in ongoing. Volunteers and Board members performed trail maintenance of the Sitka Trail system. The organization published spring & fall newsletters. Board members lead weekend public hikes during summer.
