Safari West LIVE

A fully interactive live-stream experience for children in hospitals. Safari West LIVE engages the imagination and inspires the curiosity of young explorers as they virtually ride along with a naturalist through the rolling hills of Safari West, spotting giraffes, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, and many more wondrous African animals.

Launched in 2021, this interactive program has already reached more than 116,000 pediatric hospital beds across 32 states. We have repeatedly seen first-hand how this program can literally change a child's life. With partners Lollipop Theater and Ryan Seacrest Foundation, the Safari West LIVE program content reaches over 3 million patients per year.

This experience provides a conservation-focused exploration of wildlife biology, ecology, and conservation sure to spark an interest in students of all ages. The Junior Keeper Program is open to qualified young people between the ages of 12 and 16 years old. It's an opportunity for young people to learn about careers in animal, conservation, and science fields. Junior Keepers dedicate one day every weekend, Spring through Fall.
In addition to working directly with the animals at Safari West, Junior Keepers are involved with keeper duties such as enrichment, learning curriculum related to biology and fire science, and working on public speaking skills when presenting at special conservation day events like Earth Day, World Oceans Day, and fundraisers. This program serves as a launch pad for teens interested in wildlife conservation efforts. Graduates have moved into roles as professionals in the zoological, veterinary science, and business fields supporting wildlife conservation and advocacy.
