What we aim to solve
We need to find a way to publicize our organization so more people in Allen know there is a garden club where they can learn about gardening in our area. We get a lot of people moving here from other states who struggle to grow vegetables or ornamental plants because they don't know how to prepare the soil or what plants are best for our area. We feel we are an excellent source of garden experts next to our master gardeners for people to have a resource where they can learn about gardening. We would like to have another way other than our website or maybe with an improved website to spread the word about what our organization offers.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Educate people in Allen and surrounding areas about gardening - what grows best here, how to prepare the soil, what to do about garden pests with the least toxic solution, etc.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Utilize social media such as Facebook and Twitter; publish our Plant of the Month on the home page of our website; advertise our monthly meeting information on social media; engage other organizations to participate in our community service projects
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Publicize our community service projects with photographs on social media, website, and monthly member's newsletter; ask for assistance from organizations such as the Collin County Master Gardeners, Keep Allen Beautiful, Allen High School JROTC cadets, and Allen High School horticulture students
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have maintained gardens at the Allen Heritage Village, St. Jude Catholic Church, and the Heritage Park playground Adopt-a-Spot. We are now in the planning stages of installing a 60' x 120' educational garden at the Allen ISD STEAM Center. This garden will contain native and well-adapted plants that attract pollinators and can be used as an outdoor classroom.
