What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC)
Our Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) continues to provide justice services to all of Grays Harbor County. The concept is to care for the child victim in the most considerate way possible, avoiding additional trauma as the case is investigated. Forensic interviews are done in a non-threatening environment, well documented and recorded to eliminate the need for a child to endure repeated questioning. All necessary parties to the investigation are included in the process. Consideration is taken to support non-offending family members and to ensure the best possible outcome for those families. Equal regard is taken to assist prosecutors and law enforcement in facilitating potential prosecution. Our most recent addition to this program is Louie, our Courthouse Dog. Louie is a support for both children and families, providing a comforting friend during difficult times. He is allowed to accompany a child into the courtroom and onto the witness stand.
Family Time Visitation
The Family Time Program provides visits between biological parents and siblings and can include extended biological family. We facilitate the opportunity for sustained, positive interaction in a protected environment where families can relax and connect with one another. Our program allows children to maintain and enrich bonds with their biological families, which can be particularly important while in the foster care system.
We work with the Department of Children and Families (DCYF) on state referred visitation cases.
We also accept clients on a private pay basis for those in need of supervised visits with their children. We are the neutral third party that can facilitate visitation in the positive environment necessary for parties involved in contentious relationships.
Parent Child Assistance Program
The ParentChild Assistance Program (PCAP) is an award winning, evidenceinformed home visitation casemanagement model for pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorders. PCAP goals are to help mothers build healthy families and prevent future births of children exposed prenatally to alcohol and drugs.
Behavioral Health Services
Connections offers a range of behavioral health services with a focus on trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) for children. These services include:
Parent Education: Providing parents with essential knowledge and skills to support their childrens well-being using evidence-based practices including, Incredible Years, SafeCare, and Family Preservation Services.
