Goals & Strategy
Learn about the organization's key goals, strategies, capabilities, and progress.
Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Equip every high-school student who participates in our programs receives the tools necessary to succeed academically and personally. Doing so, by closing the academic achievement gap that exists within minority populations. 1)by increasing high school attendance, which leads to increased graduation, which is naturally followed by increased attendance to institutions of higher learning. 2)Provide viable work skills to those who cannot or do not desire to do so, attend our institution with computer operation and/or refurbishing skills so that they too can become contributing members of society.
3) Develop, in our society, an awareness of the benefits of better health by physical fitness and a healthy diet. This program is available to all members of the community. and by stressing the value of healthy diets. 4) Having, in house, a program for all athletes who are training to increase their skill level in the sport of their choice and mentor those who desire such individualized attention. 5) Providing seniors and those who desire to do so with knowledge of basic software packages, communication software and instruments (smart phones, etc..) 6) Continue the homework program for students from grades 1 - 12. This program prepares a student with the necessary desires to continue to secondary education.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Continued provision of quality consultation in the areas of school development including application, curriculum, and budget-development to better meet the needs of a diverse population. Doing so by continued computer literacy classes for all.
Continue effective tutoring programs for children and adults in a variety of means and in having them become mentors for the teachers and the professional staff at the schools that they or their children attend. To do so, will serve to combat the digital divide that is a contributing cause of the socio-economic problem that severely impacts the residents of Bernalillo County. It will raise the median income from that of $$44,886 which is 18% below the national median so that families who reside in Bernalillo County will not be living in such abject poverty.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Continue providing the many programs now offered by eREAD, Inc. on the existing no-charge basis. The physical plant and all equipment are in-house. Due to the embezzling of $70,000.00 + in the last fiscal year, it was necessary to lay-off all personnel. With funding, it will simply be a matter of bringing that personnel back to return to previous program presentations .
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
All of our programs have been established. Due to the embezzlement of $70,000.00 +, by an outside entity, in the last fiscal year, it has been necessary to cease operation of all programs except the Computer Recycling, Health Readiness, NCAA Support and CASA (which is has been maintained due to the instructor's, fund-free, desire to do so ).
Having all of the classes being fully subscribed. Again, the problem is funding. Even though we have been requested to do so by the principals of from high-school only , being able to expand our programs to all of the middle and elementary schools in our district is the lack of monies. The principles and parents of these schools are anxious for us to do so as soon as possible.
The ability to purchase SAT/ACT/GED software again.
