What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

In 2019 there are an estimated 8,000 Alaskans living with Alzheimer's. This number is expected to rise to 11,000 by 2025 (almost a 40% increase). Currently, our Education program is at capacity and there are waiting lists of people who need our help. We are the only state-wide organization to provide programs for Alaskans living with Alzheimer's and related dementia and training for family caregivers.

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?

Our goals are to provide services for two distinct groups of Alaskans in different ways: 1) Those affected by Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia: we provide outreach, information and referrals, training, consultations, and support services to the individuals, their family caregivers, professionals in the field and the community at large, and most of these services are provided at no cost (we do charge professionals our cost for continuing education credits). 2) Any Alaskan with any disability: a partnership process that uses our Care Coordinators' expertise in identifying, assessing, planning, monitoring and finding the best services in the community to meet the needs of individuals regardless of age, income or disability.

We do outreach to community organizations that may help identify people needing our services.
