What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Case Management
Case managers work with clients and family members to assess their resources and strengths and to evaluate the client's natural support network. Together they analyze present unmet needs and possible future needs and strategize how to best address those needs.
Client Services
All clients are eligible for some or all of the services offered - hot meals, access to food bank and personal hygiene items, assistance with transportation, medical and dental needs, social activities, substance abuse counseling, and care companions.
Housing
Housing and related supportive services for homeless and low-income clients.
HIV Prevention & Education
Prevention and Education activities include HIV rapid testing, risk reduction counseling, statewide condom distribution, outreach educational activities and presentations, and the syringe access program.
Anchorage Men's Project
Anchorage Men’s Project (AMP) is an innovative and evidence-based initiative for promoting sexual health and lowering rates of HIV infection by empowering young men who have sex with men. Rates of new HIV infection remain high for young men who have sex with men, and Alaska is currently seeing a significant uptick in new infections among this population. In October of 2014, in response to this uptick, Four A’s launched the Anchorage Men’s Project (AMP) for gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning men between the ages of 18 and 29. Through fun and engaging biweekly events, AMP provides culturally relevant education about HIV transmission, as well as practical tools for risk reduction, while nurturing community, building self-esteem, and fostering communication skills among participants. In this way, it empowers participants to make healthy decisions and reduce their risk of HIV infection, as well as to engage in informal outreach in their communities that exponentially increases the impact of the program.
