Mission

Alaska Community Share, founded in 1985, is a coalition of Alaska-based non-profit, social, educational, health, arts and environmental organizations cooperating to raise funds through workplace giving. Member agencies help people in need, create social change, advocate for women's issues, promote cultural awareness and protect the environment throughout Alaska.

Workplace Giving Campaigns

Alaska Community Share provides the opportunity for all types of Alaskan non-profit organizations to participate in workplace giving campaigns. Additionally Alaska Community Share gives donors greater choice in workplace giving by offering a diverse list of non-profit organizations.

Population(s) Served

Alaska Community Share, in partnership with several other organizations, is on the coordination committee for the Anchorage TimeBank. This program incentivizes volunteerism in the community by awarding and accounting for "Time Dollars" earned for each our volunteered by individuals to help their neighbors or local charitable organizations. These Time Dollars can then be "spent" on asking others to help, builds caring community economies through inclusive exchange of time and talent.

Population(s) Served

Each September, during National Preparedness Month, the Municipality of Anchorage hosts the Safe & Sound Preparedness Fair, educating the public on the importance of readiness, and providing a venue for preparedness organizations to interact with their target populations. Alaska Community Share assists with planning and organization for this event.
