Programs

From May through September the Heritage Center focuses on visitor interaction programs by providing opportunities for guests to meet Alaska Native people from a variety of cultures, backgrounds and generations. Every visitor to the Heritage Center experiences, first-hand, the past and present lifestyles of Alaska Natives, enriched by traditional song, dance and visual arts.

Winter programs focus on education and community participation. Our programs also target strengthening specific cultural identities and promote cross-cultural understanding through a variety of cultural and educational activities. Both informal and formal programs start in the fall and Master Artist Series, School Visit and Cultural Outreach programs for grades K-12, Cultural Awareness Workshops, After-School Programs, Day Camps.
