Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We provide an enriching natural experience for families and classrooms where participants are able to interact with animals and nature in a safe and controlled environment. Located in a rural community one of our primary goals is to create a culture where all citizens are valued, this is achieved primarily through volunteerism and forging relationships between those we serve and the volunteers who help make our programs and services possible.

Family Barnyard Visits
These visits are geared to provide families with an opportunity to enjoy spending time together outdoors in the company of joyful animals. Additionally, visits may serve as a pleasant distraction from other burdens that might be weighing on you. We are thrilled to offer you and your family a safe, family friendly environment. We know firsthand the restorative benefits of spending time outdoors and interacting with animals.
The barnyard visits are individually geared towards families and their needs. Possible activities include: caring for the animals (walking, feeding, and grooming the animals), sensory activities, unstructured play, gardening, and more.
Please note: Elsie’s Barnyard, Inc. is located at the Fleming residents. There is a specified area designed with you and your family in mind. The “barnyard” provides safety and comfort to both the participants and animals. The “barnyard” includes an enclosed yard and climate controlled 20x10 barn where friends and animals alike ar

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We strive to be a beacon of peace, hope, and love. Where participants have the opportunity to grieve the difficult circumstances they face, acknowledge the adversity around them, and celebrate the progress they’ve made.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We will cultivate relationships through volunteerism resulting in a fully integrated community where all residents are valued.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?

What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
2022 was our inaugural year. We launched a successful pilot program where ten families participated weekly for ten weeks. Families provided valuable feedback on their experiences which gave us the data needed to shape permanent program structures. As we prepare for our next season of providing services, we have already expanded the number of animals we have for our Animal Assisted Activities and are seeking funding sources to help expand our facility with the addition of gardening boxes and a gazebo for additional gathering space.
