Symphony Goes to School

Brings select musicians on-site for an assembly performance and also provides classroom teachers with CDs and a comprehensive study guide to enhance the musical education programs in local elementary and preschools.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

The Auburn Symphony is pleased to again extend an invitation to serious young musicians, ages 8-18, residing in Placer, El Dorado, or Nevada counties and to all students or relatives of Auburn Symphony musicians, to participate in the Young Artist Competition. The Auburn Symphony holds this competition to promote and encourage young musicians who are interested in performance and the study of classical music.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth
Adolescents

This is a free family concert that kicks off each season in early September. The popular pops and classical favorites concert attracts more than 1,000 people to Auburn School Park Preserve in downtown Auburn each year and relies solely on donations, grants, and sponsorships. The concert was established in 2009.

Population(s) Served
Families
Adults

A sister program to our Symphony Goes to School program, the preschool outreach program brings 6-10 musicians, a conductor and narrator directly into Western Placer preschools to perform for children ages 0-5. The program is geared specifically for this age group and is built around a staple of classic children's tunes, introducing the children to the magic of music.

Population(s) Served
Infants and toddlers
