Court Appointed Special Advocates

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates
Advocates are our most valuable program resource and the backbone of our organization. Without our child advocates, our program would not exist nor could we continue to do the important work needed to help children from abuse and neglect.

What is our program?
CASA for Kids is solely focused on advocating for a child's best interest throughout the duration of their CHIPS (Child in Need of Protection & Services) case. Our advocates are trained and vetted before being sworn in as an Officer of the Court. Once their case assignment begins, they maintain a positive and consistent presence in the child's life. Their visits and observations are recorded and presented to the judge in an accurate and objective court report. All the while, gauging the child's best interest, needs, wants, additional resources/supports, providing insight and recommendations. We prioritize the voices of children from abuse.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

CASA for Kids wishes to effectively assign a trained advocate to each child under protective orders in the counties we serve in order to give them a voice and speak on their best interests throughout the life of their case.

Develop and implement effective strategic planning in order to maintain and sustain the organization's presence in the communities we serve. Sustainability will lead to larger recruitment efforts, assignments to children in need, and potential for growth into surrounding areas.

We receive consistent community support through foundations, grants, and donations. Our organization functions at a minimum level strategy to lessen all overhead costs.

We have recently achieved 501c3 status, activated a brand-new board of directors, and are receiving automatic court appointments in the three-county area we service.
