Sierra Foothill Conservancy is a land trust rooted in the local community. With your volunteer time and donations, we preserve special places for future generations.
Our protection of foothill land…
Protects wildlife & preserves native flora and historic rangelands
Provides educational and recreational opportunities for the community
Promotes scientific study of foothill ecosystems
Maintains open space and beautiful vistas
Sierra Foothill Conservancy is a non-profit public benefit corporation under the Internal Revenue Service Code Section 501(c)(3) and California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 23701d. Contributions are deductible for federal income tax purposes.

Sierra Foothill Conservancy Service Region
The Sierra Foothill Conservancy owns and operates three nature preserves to protect habitat and that are open to the public for scheduled hikes, class field trips and community enrichment classes. It also holds conservation easements for private land owners. It also facilitates a community based watershed protection program known as the Millerton Area Watershed Coalition.
Education & Outreach Program
The Education & Outreach Program provides opportunities for youth and the community to experience the outdoors on the six nature preserves that Sierra Foothill Conservancy owns and manages. Opportunities include school groups, hikes and classes and special member-only events.
Land Conservation
Sierra Foothill Conservancy works to conserve the grasslands, foothills, and forests between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks provide land for farms and ranches, a home for native plants and wildlife, and a source of clean water. The Sierra Foothill Conservancy honors our natural and cultural heritage by protecting these resources and ensuring that present and future generations will continue to experience and enjoy the land in this region.

Sierra Foothill Conservancy has conserved over 30,000 acres:
Total Preserve Acreage: 6,441
Transfer to Public Agency: 2,554 acres
Conservation Easements: 21,277 acres
We protect:
Carpenteria; Keck's checkerbloom; Orange lupine; golden eagle; prairie falcon; great gray owl; bobcat; mountain lion; mastiff bat; gray fox; Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle; California tiger salamander; limestone salamander; blue oak woodland; forests; rangeland; meadows; vernal pools; riparian habitat; native bunch grass habitat.
