Mission

Our mission is deliver innovative training program and essential services to assist low-income San Francisco immigrants in succeeding in the competitive job market. Since 1966, CRDC has provided direct services and job training programs to thousands of low-income residents, mainly immigrants with limited English proficiency. Numerous adults have benefited from our skill training programs and employment services, which are what they need to improve their lives. CRDC's community service for the past 40+ years has helped underprivileged adults become self-sufficient, live independently and capable of contributing to the communities.

Hospitality Service Training Program

The Hospitality Service Training Program offers 15-week work-preparedness training and workplace literacy to immigrants who are seeking employment in entry-level positions, especially in hospitality, food service and retail industries. Training content is based on the specific needs of the industries. The curriculum consists of training of general job duties, workplace communication and hospitality terminology, basic telephone skills, customer service skills and job safety. In addition, students also learn how to fill out a job application, write a resume, search for jobs, practice interview skills, and learn of local employment trends. Trainees develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication and team building. The beneficiaries of this program are 100% low-income residents, including 98%-99% Asian. They possess limited English and marketable job skills. Program duration: 15 hours/week, 15 weeks/cycle, 3 cycles/year. Class size: 25 to 35/per class. We serve approximately 90-120 clients a year.
