Nourish All In Need
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The problem MOWMP works to alleviate is food insecurity and the lack of access to enough food for an active, healthy life for all household members in our community. Food-insecure households are not necessarily food insecure all the time thus MOWMP offers a very flexible system to enter and exit our programs.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Meals on Wheels Community Center
Healthy nutrition and daily physical exercise are important components of the healthy aging process. Pre-retirement adults and retired, ambulatory seniors participate in the many exercise, health and wellness and enrichment classes offered at the Center to maintain and promote healthy aging.
The Meals on Wheels Community Center at 700 Jewell Avenue in Pacific Grove partners with other nonprofit agencies and members of the community to offer technology training and legal services for seniors, as well as other one-on-one services. These activities help seniors and their families to navigate the formal and informal social service networks available to them through privately funded, independent nonprofits as well as state and federally funded agencies. MOWMP programs also provide information and referral services to individuals and their families.
Home Delivered Meals Program
Provides home delivered meals five days per week, with an optional meal for the weekend, to frail, elderly and disabled adults. The majority of our home delivered meals clients are low-income. Meals on Wheels serves all clients who meet program criteria, whatever an individual's ability to contribute. A donation to the program would be appreciated.
Congregate Dining Program
Offers a hot, nutritious noon luncheon to ambulatory seniors at four sites in Marina, Seaside, Monterey and Pacific Grove. As important as the meal is the opportunity to dine in the company of friends and new acquaintances.
