Mission

Our mission is to bring about a healed relationship between the human world and the natural world, as well as the healing of individual, family and cultural wounds. We see ourselves as guides, mid-wives and fierce protectors of the sacred container of transformation. By marking and honoring life-cycle changes, we weave together the individual and collective stories of our lives, growing in our capacity to live from our deepest values and visions.

Wilderness Quest

Rites of Passage has offered the 9-day Wilderness Quest program, with its roots in pan-cultural ceremonies and teachings, for over 40 years. With a focus on reconnecting with nature, finding authentic depth and meaning, healing old wounds, and marking significant life changes, the program will appeal to adults in any life stage, and to older teens as an initiation into adulthood. The first 3 days (Severance) focus on safety, orientation, and exploring connection with the wilderness. The middle 3 days (Threshold) are solo time at a site of the participant's choosing. The final 3 days (Return) provide support and integration for the return to civilization after the profound experience of connection to wild nature.
