The mission of John Muir Health Foundation is to inspire and steward philanthropic support for all programs, services and facilities of John Muir Health. Charitable gifts provide vital funding for life-saving medical equipment, advances in technology, clinical research, community health programs and health services for those in need.

John Muir Health
Since 1965, John Muir Health has evolved from a community hospital into one of the San Francisco East Bay's premier institutions. Serving as a comprehensive regional medical center, John Muir Health is a private, not-for-profit institution, which offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services in many primary and specialty areas. With a special emphasis on critical care, areas of distinction include trauma, orthopedics, neurosciences, low-and high-risk obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, cardiovascular medicine, surgery, rehabilitation, diabetes, services for seniors and cancer care. John Muir Health offers a variety of health-related programs and services to the community which include the physician referral and information service. This service matches an individual's needs to the appropriate physician, helps community members locate other healthcare services and provides information to help ensure a compatible match between the caller's insurance plan and participating physicians. A multitude of health screenings, support groups and classes are also provided to community members free of charge.

The mission of John Muir Health Foundation is to inspire and steward philanthropic support for all programs, services and facilities of John Muir Health. Charitable gifts provide vital funding for life-saving medical equipment, advances in technology, clinical research, community health programs and health services for those in need.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
John Muir Health Foundation is dedicated and compassionate about providing philanthropic support to the programs and services of John Muir Health. We do this in many ways with an emphasis on Program Development.
Annual Program Development includes but is not limited to:
Legacy Gifts -- an active engagement with John Muir Health volunteers, grateful patients and physicians
Events -- our signature Gala event raised $2.25 million in 2018 for Neurosciences Services
Annual Giving -- mailings and email to prospective donors and current donors
Employee Giving -- we have a very strong employee giving program
Strategic Partnerships -- we partner with like-minded organizations to highlight the importance and critical nature of health care in the East Bay
Prospect Development -- we work diligently with community and health care leaders to promote our cause
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
John Muir Health Foundation was established nearly 40 years ago with the same mission we have today. Our staff is highly trained, caring, and competent and our infrastructure and technology help us to gather the metrics needed to build and improve on outcomes every year.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have successfully implemented best practice programming and will continue to look for ways to enhance those when and if necessary.
