Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Maintain a free public art gallery on Main Street in Half Moon Bay
2. Provide juried shows, open to visual artists in the Bay Area region
3. Provide annual benefit show for Half Moon Bay High School
4. Provide annual benefit shows for members
5. Provide free art classes at the Senior Center
6. Provide art supplies for elementary schools in Cabrillo Unified School District
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
• Eleven (11) gallery exhibitions are scheduled annually, and admission is always free.
• Contract Shows provide opportunities for clubs to rent the exhibition gallery.
• Regional Juried Shows encourage artists to develop and share their craft.
• Artist receptions facilitate collegial connections.
• The Collective provides artists with a place to show and sell their work.
• Entrepreneurial skills are fostered as artists staff the gallery and serve on committees.
• Online publications reach across San Mateo and neighboring counties inviting artists to participate in juried shows that award small cash prizes.
• Art classes at the Senior Center provide social interaction for older adults.
• The High School Art Dept. Show provides real-world gallery experience, attracts families, and introduces students to the resources of the Coastal Arts League.
