Emergency Food Assistance Program

The Emergency Food Assistance Program is a federal Program that distributes food to low-income individuals in Yuba and Sutter County. Foods are purchased by the Yuba-Sutter Food Bank through the U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA) to be distributed in Yuba and Sutter Counties through public distributions.

Products distributed through this Program vary each month but often include non-perishable dry and canned goods, frozen proteins, and grains.

Currently, Yuba-Sutter Food Bank provides monthly emergency food to over 1,000 low-income households at more than 20 locations.

To qualify for this Program, individuals must self-certify that they meet income guidelines (English/Spanish) that the State of California has determined.

The Silver Fox Program is a federal Program that provides monthly supplemental food packages to income-eligible senior citizens aged 60 and over. The Food Bank administers the Program at 20 distribution sites every month in communities throughout Yuba and Sutter County.

Monthly Food deliveries are made to Yuba and Sutter County low-income seniors 65+ with the goals of reducing hunger, and providing nutritious groceries to individuals who are elderly and potentially lack the resources to acquire healthy foods.

The Yuba-Sutter Food Bank relies on partnerships with nonprofit agencies in the community to provide food assistance and support to thousands of individuals and families who face food insecurity in Yuba-Sutter.
Partners receive food from the Food Bank to support the feeding programs they operate in their communities. Our members include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, rehabilitation, and disability programs.
