Mission

ROSE Community Development is a non-profit organization in southeast Portland that builds affordable housing and creates neighborhood opportunities for residents to thrive. We have developed 550 affordable homes, including rental and for-sale projects. Additionally, we do comprehensive community development through our Resident Assets, Baby Booster and Lents Youth Initiative programs, giving families the resources and support they need to be successful. Our 30 years of experience in affordable housing has given us a deep, local knowledge of the impact a supportive community can have for families. We value community collaboration, diversity, integrity, and respect.

Resident Assets Program

Through ROSE’s Resident Assets Program, residents of all ages can engage in a variety of activities that support positive relationships, personal growth, and community resiliency. Resident Assets programming includes afterschool programming at 5 sites, summer camps, youth photography programs, field trips, adult enrichment workshops, community gardening, emergency loans, and free mobile markets. One of ROSE’s strengths is to bring together community partners under the shared vision to revitalize outer southeast Portland. We believe resident-centered programming builds social capital, increases resident engagement and supports resident leadership and power. All these factors contribute to our resident’s satisfaction and empowerment.
