What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Increasing donation revenue is our Number One priority so that we can continue and expand our humanitarian projects. Distributing our message and mission needs effectively beyond the Assyrian community itself has proved a challenge but is critical to sustaining and growing our mission.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The Assyrian Aid Society must reach out to non-Assyrians in the U.S., especially in the greater Christian communities, to let them know of the needs of the indigenous Christian people in Iraq and how their churches and as individuals can contribute funds for our programs.

We are increasing our outreach via the Internet and especially social media. We are increasing our direct personal outreach to churches around the country.

We have recently added a media professional (volunteer) to devise and oversee all of our advertising and solicitations, both electronic and print. Additionally, the Board has added a Director who has ties and expertise with non-Assyrian Christian communities.

The fall of Mosul to ISIS three years ago and the news stories it generated here in the U.S. helped to make non-Assyrian Americans aware of the Christian minority in Iraq. Churches and congregations around the country reached out to us and made record-breaking donations. But as the headlines faded, so did the attention of those churches and congregations, as did the donations. We must reestablish those contacts and establish new ones in those non-Assyrian communities.
