Transit for all
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Education
Our education program helps build a base of lifelong transit supporters. In June every year, we organize Ride Transit Month, partnering with organizations across the state to show our appreciation for transit riders. Another component of our ongoing education, outreach, and engagement efforts is our popular Transit Talks series, bringing together transportation experts and the community to discuss critical topics such as mobility equity and multimodal systems.
Advocacy
Advocacy is central to our work at TCC. Our advocacy is the reason that we are able to develop impactful transportation plans, build broad public support, and pass them at the ballot. It will take vision, courage, and tenacity to advocate for the right policies, projects, and community engagement. With our coalition partners, we are committed to seeing this implementation through, advocating to decision-makers, staff, and other stakeholders on behalf of Washington state residents.
Policy Work
Our overall goal is to develop and advocate for transportation policies, plans, and solutions that move Washington State towards increased sustainability, opportunity, and improved health. TCC is challenging the status quo to shift how we invest in our communities, advocating for more funding for transit, walking, and biking infrastructure and working to ensure that these investments benefit everyone, especially those that need it most.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We pass policies that support more transit, bike, and pedestrian improvements at the state, regional, and local levels.
We are leading the way to build a transportation system that connects people to jobs, education, housing, health care, communities, and each other. We bring together a variety of partners from across the state to work toward a common goal — more transportation choices that get you where you need to go.
We are making Washington State a national leader on transportation.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Pass policies that increase transit service, reduce carbon emissions, and foster healthy and thriving communities. Monitor the implementation of passed policies to ensure accountability and equitable outcomes.
Increase funding for transit, bike, and pedestrian infrastructure through advocacy that organizes communities to champion more transportation choices.
Build intersectional coalitions that bring together business, labor, social justice, environmental, health, and transportation advocates to win policies and funding.
Enhance public awareness and support for transit, bike, and pedestrian choices through our education partnerships with businesses, universities, neighborhoods, and other community organizations.
Urge the development of racial and social equity programs and tools at agencies and governments to help them center and evaluate equity within their work.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Since 1993, Transportation Choices Coalition is a policy and advocacy nonprofit dedicated to making transportation accessible to all in Washington State.
TCC staff sit on nearly 20 boards and commissions, including:
PSRC Transportation Policy Board, Climate Alliance for Jobs and Clean Energy Governance Board, Ultra High Speed Rail Advisory Group, Joint Transportation Committee Needs Assessment Advisory Board, Highway System Plan Advisory Committee, National Transit Equity Caucus, and more!
