Mission

Mission: The mission of Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice is to sustain the residential hospice home, Celia’s House in Holmes Park, ensuring that dying individuals and their families are cared for with kindness and exceptional care, focusing on what matters for each individual at end of life, and to promote broader knowledge on the benefits of end-of- life palliative and hospice care throughout our community. Vision: Create a community which understands and transforms the dying process into a time of opportunity for meaningful closure, supporting each dying person, their loved ones and the dedicated caregivers who serve them.

Community Education on End-of-Life Care Issues

Through its website; community forums; organizational presentations; print and digital media; and personal contact with community members; Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice enables local residents to:

Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice is filling a need for people at the end of life by running a 12-bed residential care facility (RCF) for hospice patients. A dedicated hospice RCF provides patients and families with a peaceful home-like environment and 24/7 physical and emotional care by compassionate and knowledgeable hospice-trained staff. Certified nursing assistants, supported by in-house and visiting hospice nurses, an administrator, volunteer coordinator, and hospice-trained volunteers provide care for hospice patients and support of their loved ones. The Celia's House in Holmes Park is now serving individuals from all income levels in our community - with financial assistance available for those-in-need.
