Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
David & Margaret is aiming to accomplish positive impacts in each of the youth's lives. We want to be able to give all the opportunities to the youth that unfortunately, were taken from them in the process of them entering the foster care system while stabilizing and building families. Creating a community that renews hope and inspires change.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
David & Margaret has several strategies in place to accomplish successful outcomes with the youth we serve. We offer therapeutic and preventative services, education, recreation, and family reunification for the youth. We also offer life skills classes, and living support for young adults who age out of foster care.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
David & Margaret has skilled employees exclusively trained to meet the youth's needs in our Residential Department, Joan Macy School, Mental Health Services Department, Transitional Living Program, and many more. David & Margaret also has the agility to try new things and the resources of an established agency.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
David & Margaret has several accomplishments. By opening Cedar Springs, we were allowed to continue giving living support to the youth aging out of foster care in the Transitional Living Program. The Store and Dave & Maggie's Café has also allowed us to offer internships to the youth we serve. These internships teach the youth on the job experience and responsibility. David & Margaret was able to provide services to the youth in foster care who have no place else to turn, and finding placements for youth. David & Margaret would like to expand the Transitional Living Program, establishing best practices for foster youth in residential care in response to changing legislation and building support for all families in our community.
