Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles Programs

Three Camp Programs are designed to promote self-esteem, combat isolation and educate and empower those affected: (1) Epilepsy Family Weekend Camp serves 60-75 families of children with epilepsy; (2) Epilepsy Teen Retreat serves 33-40 teens with epilepsy; and (3) Winter Retreat for Adults with Epilepsy ? 12-25 adults with epilepsy
The Social-Support Program is designed to provide resources and assistance, bring individuals and families affected by epilepsy together to combat isolation, and empower them to learn from each other and the foundation. This year-round activities include support groups, family picnic, holiday party, teen opportunity program, college scholarships, and some assistance with emergency medications.
The Care & Cure Initiative for Pediatric Epilepsy improves access to epilepsy specialty care by supporting pediatric epilepsy specialists in our region, and raising awareness and funding for epilepsy research.
The Education Program promotes early intervention and seizure freedom to reduce the impact of epilepsy by offering an annual Epilepsy Brain Storm Summit Conference, 800# Helpline for Healing & Hope and packets of information, public forums and conferences to obtain current information, seizure first-aid training in the community, and a periodic newsletter and website.
