VOLUNTEER CENTER OF KERN COUNTY INC

Bakersfield, CA   |  www.volunteercenter.info

Mission

To mobilize people and resources to deliver creative solutions to address community issues through volunteerism.

Notes from the nonprofit

The Volunteer Center of Kern County is part of a coalition of public and community agencies committed to preserving and bettering Kern County. Operating with a battery of volunteers and key staff members, we are fortunate enough to build upon our mission. From sponsoring our annual "Keep Kern County Cool" Fan Drive for seniors to training volunteers in preparation for staffing our Volunteer Reception Center in the event of a disaster, we engage EVERY opportunity to get people together and involved. We operate the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) which are senior volunteers 55 and above. These volunteers provide a lifetime of experience to the agencies they serve, stay active and contribute valuable experience to many local nonprofits. The Volunteer Center of Kern County also works with the court and probation departments for those assigned court-appointed community service. This gives the person the opportunity to satisfy their court obligation in lieu of incarceration.
