Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
WarmLine
WarmLine is a free peer counseling program for parents and caregivers of children 0-6 years of age to address specific parenting concerns via telephone, email, Facebook, text messaging and support groups. La Cresta Foundation willingly handed this program over to Gannon Legacy and continues to support the program.
Mom and Toddler Group
Mom and Toddler group is a bi-monthly support group of parents that meet to discuss specific current parenting situations. Participation is free and open to anyone with a young child. The group's focus is to mentor moms with young children. The group leader demonstrates positive parenting skills that foster healthy attachment between mom and toddler. The group is also a venue for friendships to develop between participants. La Cresta Foundation willingly handed this program over to Gannon Legacy and continues to support the program.
Mom and Baby
The Mom and Baby group is a bi-monthly gathering of mothers and their babies, newborn to 1 year of age. Mothers have the opportunity to share the challenges they face as they become comfortable with mothering. Women ease into their new role as mothers with the support of other women experiencing many of the same issues. Women who attend the group feel more comfortable integrating their mothering role into their psyche and provide better mothering to their infants. Many topics are addressed, such as: crying, sleeping, feeding choices, post partum depression, gross and fine motor development, infant brain development and introduction to activities and resources in the community. Breastfeeding is encouraged and supported.La Cresta Foundation willingly handed this program over to Gannon Legacy and continues to support the program.
WarmLine Volunteer Training
WarmLine Volunteer Training begins each year in September. Currently, a maximum of 10 new volunteers are trained annually. Volunteers meet each Friday morning from September through March. Child development, healthy attachment, and peer counseling listening skills are all addressed in the training program. Volunteers take practice calls, perform preschool observations and participate in 'call review' during the training. Graduation is held in May. Volunteers commit to a second year of service following training. Opportunities for volunteer leadership positions during the second year are available and encouraged. Volunteers are encouraged to continue personal and professional development while serving the community.La Cresta Foundation willingly handed this program over to Gannon Legacy and continues to support the program.
