Total Life Christian Center is working in concert with other agencies, ministries, and municipalities in Ventura County to extinguish homelessness and everything that proceeds from it.

We are providing opportunities to homeless, jobless, and disenfranchised adults that will enable them to return to society as productive, tax-paying citizens through our Total Life Transitional Living Skills Program. We are meeting the needs of disenfranchised youth engaging them through our Scholarships for the Mind. We are helping individuals who need a job, a career or who have dreams and aspirations in business through our Career and Business Assistance Center partnership with the Employment Aptitude and Placement Association. We provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and healing through Total Life Church.

Total Life Christian Center was established in 1963 as Ventura Church of God in Christ at 660 Ventura Avenue Ventura, California. We have consistently provided services in our local community and extended our services to other communities, states, and countries when needed. We are primarily staffed by volunteers and at times, we have coordinated large volunteer teams to get the job done.

We use an inner agency auditing process four times per year to evaluate our progress according to our preset goals and objectives. We have established outcome indicators for each of our goal areas to ensure that we are measuring our efficacy in a way that provides us with accurate data.

TLCC has been a pillar of the Buenaventura community. We daily serve a population of this community that is often ignored. During our inception, we purchased and upgraded a facility that was suitable for the programs that we employ. We currently are in a campaign to pay off the existing mortgage. We are also in the planning stages for our transitional living campus that will include a small number of living spaces, a community garden, and a training center.
