Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Legal Services
Free Legal Services for individuals who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The Coalition’s Legal Department provides free, comprehensive, legal services for sexual assault and domestic violence survivors and their families with legal issues in the area of family law and immigration. Since 2021, the Coalition’s legal services have doubled since 2020. More individuals are seeking assistance with legal forms such as retraining orders, dissolution of marriage, child custody, and paternity. Sexual assault victims need assistance suing their perpetrators and guidance navigating small claims to extract themselves from their partner’s finances. Legal services include helping with victim compensation for crime-related expenses such as medical costs, mental health counseling and funeral costs through the offices of Victims of Crimes (OVC). In addition, legal services can help a survivor enroll in Safe at Home in California.
