Founded in 1986, WHCHC currently houses over 1,185 residents in 702 units at 20 high-quality affordable rental communities in West Hollywood, Los Angeles and Glendale. WHCHC has a rich history in creating award-winning housing and providing critical support services for some of the most diverse and marginalized populations in the County, including seniors, low-income families, those living with HIV/AIDS, Transition Age Youth (TAY), and individuals with special needs, such as those with a mental health diagnosis. Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Community Housing

WHCHC builds architecturally distinguished buildings that reflect and complement their surrounding neighborhoods. At the same time, our projects make efficient use of scarce public and private resources by carefully controlling costs. After buildings are completed, we maintain a high standard of asset management by managing our own portfolio. Our Enhanced Management program provides support for long-term tenancies, often assisting residents to live independently, for a longer period of time. A Resident Manager at each site has standard property management responsibilities, but also keeps an eye out for residents who are struggling with day-to-day chores. A Resident Services Coordinator visits households, monitors their needs for social services, and links them with community service providers when necessary.
