The goal of the Out to Innovate™ summit is to engage and retain marginalized STEM professionals and broaden participation of LGBT people in STEM careers. The summit does this by bringing together LGBTQ and ally STEM students (high school, college, graduate school and post-doctoral) with LGBTQ career professionals, academics and employers in the STEM community. The summit, held every other year since 2010, provides openly-LGBTQ accomplished STEM speakers, workshops, mentoring sessions, pan-science poster sessions, career resources, and a recognition awards ceremony.
