What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Brent's Club
Brent's Club is an incentivized social-emotional wellness program focused on racial justice, youth advocacy, drug prevention, and building peer support by connecting with other Brent's Clubs and youth from diverse communities.
Leaders In Training
Leaders In Training is a leadership program that focuses on mentorship, community service, and personal development. This peer-led leadership group is passionate about the well-being of the environment and respect for our planet! Participants are eligible for community service learning hours and have access to the latest opportunities for service projects, scholarship opportunities, & more.
Empowered Voices
Empowered Voices is a year long social emotional learning program with four modules each culminating design thinking and project based learning. Members develop resiliency and better understand mental health. Members also deepen their knowledge in these areas by using their creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills to create solutions for individual or community challenges.
Program focus includes: social and environmental justice, D.E.I, resilience, and more.
Johnny Strange Legacy Inspire
A skate program in honor of Johnny Strange. Johnny, a Malibu local, was an adventure seeker at heart, who passed at the age of 23 while wing suit base jumping in the Swiss alps. He accomplished so much at such a young age, was purely and intrinsically motivated, and inspired by the world around him – nature, culture, and sports. He used his opportunities to do good and inspire others. Members learn skating techniques to master their awareness, etiquette, balance, control, and their talent! Skaters are empowered and encouraged to be motivated, learn new skills, and have a great time and stay positive while doing it.
S.T.E.M.
BGCM S.T.E.M. programs help bridge the gap between S.T.E.M. and real-world scenarios. We focus on hands-on, project-based learning, for students to explore the various disciplines that S.T.E.M. has to offer. The four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Kids interact and collaborate with peers with the instruction of Youth Development Professional staff and or Club partners who facilitate high-yield learning activities on a weekly basis to introduce and expand student’s knowledge in these four specific areas through an interdisciplinary and applied approach.
