Mission

Our goals are to provide practical information, guidance, and skills to the public on ideal care for rabbits and on understanding rabbit behavior; to help reduce overpopulation, suffering, and abandonment of domestic rabbits; to help keep rabbit lovers informed of issues surrounding rabbits and their overall well being in this country and abroad, in the pet industry and otherwise. Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Education Workshops

BLRRC offers live one-on-one or group support six days a week. We host workshops every six weeks, on-going adoptions, newsletters and mailings, a phone help-line, as well as on-line support. We also participate in community programs and events, as well as hosting our own events throughout the year. We offer youth and adult volunteer programs, plus we support and presentations to local shelter staff and schools/libraries who are interested in our programs. We also educate our members on the number of rabbits who are exploited outside the pet industry and how they can be helped. We believe that increasing inter-species compassion and understanding contributes to a more peaceful planet.

Population(s) Served

We operate a no-kill facility that takes in rabbits who have been red-tagged at the local county animal shelter. We have a rigorous adoption process to ensure our rabbits are adopted out to caring and responsible homes.
